Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Police Report Technician Senior to join our team at the City of Atlanta, GA. As a key member of our public safety records management team, you will be responsible for handling and processing public safety records, auditing and updating files, and providing exceptional customer service to the public and other City employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and correct police reports, notify appropriate personnel of errors and issues, and assist citizens with requests for information.
  • Process and maintain electronic and paper crime, arrest, and incident report files, ensuring compliance with departmental policy and procedures.
  • Access and enter information into local, state, and national law enforcement systems, generate automated notifications, and manage supporting files.
  • Code and enter data into an automated records management database, retrieve and disseminate reports, and provide information to department staff.
  • Research and provide information related to crime, arrest, and traffic reports, receive and verify fees, and classify incoming crime reports according to FBI Uniform Crime Reporting Criteria.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent certification/degree in communications or records management, and 3-5 years of responsible clerical experience in record-keeping.
  • Valid Georgia driver's license and GCIC certification.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintain confidentiality, and interact with the public and other City employees in a courteous and tactful manner.
