About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Specialist to join our team at Georgia State University. As a Police Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

The successful candidate will be responsible for patrolling campus areas, directing traffic, enforcing traffic laws and regulations, and maintaining watch over buildings and grounds. You will also be responsible for observing and investigating suspicious actions or persons, and reporting and investigating accidents, vandalism, thefts, and fire.

In addition, you will assist in the location of lost or stolen property, give directions and other information to the public as requested, and maintain records of accidents and investigations. You will also be responsible for giving warnings and issuing tickets to the public, advising students, faculty, and staff on campus regulations, and investigating traffic accidents.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and three years of experience with the Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training Council (POST) certification as a Law Enforcement Officer. You will also have completed forty hours of Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training and have a strong understanding of standard police practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

Requirements
