Position Overview

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing the storage and distribution of materials and components within the KHS USA stockroom. This role involves maintaining accurate stock records using our Enterprise Resource Planning and Warehousing FastPic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently retrieve parts from the stockroom to meet daily production needs; prepare parts in kit form for production and ensure timely delivery to the production floor; assist production leads with parts requests while maintaining precise records.
  • Utilize powered industrial vehicles to move pallets within the warehouse, pick parts from pallet racking, and unload trucks; may operate forklifts for recycling material disposal.
  • Conduct regular inventory cycle counts and accurately document results; assess the physical condition of the warehouse and equipment.
  • Process customer orders through the Enterprise Resource Planning System; accurately select parts from inventory, confirming quantities and part numbers; package items for shipment, ensuring safe delivery to customers, and generate necessary shipping labels and packing slips.
  • Retrieve shop order pick lists from the Enterprise Resource Planning System; accurately select parts from inventory and deliver them to designated Intra Logistic Drop Zones.
  • Coordinate warehouse operations with other departments, including production, parts sales, production control, and purchasing.
  • Enhance efficiencies in Receiving, Shipping, and Work Order Picking to improve the department's on-time performance and service quality.
  • Collaborate with department leadership and team members to identify and implement strategic initiatives aimed at improving overall work performance.
  • Develop, refine, and maintain work instructions, training materials, and system enhancements to foster continuous improvement and team cohesion.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of three months of experience in inventory management or warehouse operations.
  • Proficiency in using an enterprise resource planning system is essential.
