Job Summary

The North Carolina Medical Board is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Investigations Intake Coordinator to manage complaints received by the Board. This role is responsible for intake, review, and coding of incoming complaints and calls related to complaints received.

Key Responsibilities

  • Intake and review of complaints, including web-based, mailed, and e-mailed complaints
  • Coding of complaints into the Board's database
  • Communication with complainants and licensees regarding complaints
  • Identification of modifications to outgoing letters based on case specifics
  • Primary source of communication with complainants regarding filed complaints or additional complaint information
  • Interpretation of complex complaints and preparation of case for documentation and medical record requests
  • Initiation of discussions with Administrative Investigations Manager and Director, Office of Medical Director, Field Investigations, and/or Legal Staff on complaints requiring additional review
  • Instruction of callers on how to submit complaints, including working knowledge of the North Carolina Medical Boards website
  • Multi-role functionality for Legal/Administrative Investigations staff as required

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent data entry skills and accuracy
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • Proficient with Internet navigation
  • Detail-oriented and organized with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work as a team member

Education and/or Experience

Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
