Position Summary

As an Instrumentation Field Specialist, you will take charge of the installation, operation, and upkeep of process control instruments at client locations with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine calibrations of process control instruments
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations on various flow meters, transmitters, controllers, and related equipment to meet client specifications
  • Visually inspect, test, and recommend modifications to ensure installations comply with manufacturer standards
  • Observe processes, apply, and develop tests and procedures to identify proper or malfunctioning equipment operation
  • Assess potential system faults before departing for on-site service calls to determine necessary test equipment and spare parts
  • Identify upgrade opportunities at client locations
  • Provide accurate, professional, and timely documentation of service activities
  • Effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and management regarding problem nature, proposed actions, and work completion schedules
  • Support and mentor peers/apprentices to enhance their skills and technical knowledge
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent training and experience
  • 5+ years of prior experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team setting
  • Industrial safety training
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities
  • Willingness to work overtime as required
  • Capability to train and mentor local instrumentation technicians
Travel Requirements

Travel may be required up to 75% of the time, primarily local during business hours, with occasional overnight travel and weekend commitments. Candidates must be able to transport themselves to various facility sites as needed.
