Position Summary

As an Instrumentation Field Specialist, you will oversee the installation, operation, and upkeep of process control instruments at client locations with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine calibrations of process control instruments
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations on various flow meters, transmitters, controllers, and related equipment to fulfill customer needs
  • Visually inspect, test, and recommend modifications to ensure installations meet manufacturer specifications
  • Observe processes, apply, and develop tests and procedures to identify proper or malfunctioning equipment operations
  • Assess potential system issues before departing for on-site service visits to determine necessary testing equipment and spare parts
  • Identify upgrade opportunities at customer locations
  • Deliver precise, professional, and timely documentation of service visits
  • Effectively communicate with customers, colleagues, and management regarding problem nature, proposed actions, and work completion schedules
  • Provide guidance and training to peers and apprentices to enhance their skills and technical knowledge
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent training and experience
  • Over 5 years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to collaborate in a team setting
  • Industrial safety training
  • Effective communication and documentation skills
  • Willingness to work overtime as required
  • Capability to train and mentor local instrumentation technicians
Travel Requirements

Travel may be required up to 75% of the time, primarily local during business hours, with occasional overnight trips and weekend travel. Candidates must be able to transport themselves to various job sites as needed.
