About the Role
The Manufacturing Team Lead - Assembly plays a key role in supporting the team in meeting production goals. This position ensures tasks and projects are completed by effectively delegating, overseeing, and guiding team members under the direction of the area supervisor or manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinates, develops, and participates in ongoing training and provides necessary training, coaching, and mentoring to Manufacturing Technicians.
- Identifies areas for improving individual and team performance, while working across the organization to foster continuous improvement for long-term success.
- Supports department leadership with the day-to-day operations of the team using positive leadership skills.
- Ensures that team members are adhering to all safety and environmental policies & quality standards.
- Ensures team members have the required training to reach goals or accomplish tasks.
- Ensures trainees know all Safety, Quality, and Workability objectives for each job they are training.
- Verifies trainees know every stage's function in the process(es) they are training.
- Will be willing to train on off shift temporarily per business needs.
Requirements
- A minimum of three years of related experience operating highly automated assembly equipment is required.
- Must be a self-motivated individual with good written and verbal communication skills and Data Driven Decision-Making skills.
- Independent, driven, eager to learn, have strong time management skills, and the ability to manage simultaneous and often changing priorities.

Travel
Occasional domestic and international travel is required, especially during the initial plant set up. Travel to China and Japan will be required to train on new equipment during the construction phase.
Work Environment
The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant with a concrete floor and is characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic.
The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees, management, customers and suppliers.
