The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - NPI Process Development is responsible for designing and developing tooling and fixturing components for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) products.

This role will work with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and manufacture complex state-of-the-art MRI system tooling and fixturing components throughout all phases of the manufacturing process.

Activities include detailed mechanical and structural design of sub-system and component manufacturing aids related primarily to MRI superconducting magnets, including analysis, simulation, documentation, prototyping, testing, verification, qualification, demonstration of use and integration as well as process development and validation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation and presentation of tooling and fixturing design reports and part/assembly drawing reviews
  • Design leadership of productivity projects (both product cost and life cycle quality or reliability improvements)
  • Provide creative solutions to unstructured product and system manufacturing challenges from the factory

Requirements include:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 5 years of engineering design experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Direct design & analysis experience of mechanical components
  • Modeling skills with experience in solid modeling packages such as CREO, Windchill, SolidWorks, etc.
  • Effective understanding and working knowledge of metals, plastics, and composite materials
  • Hands on hardware experience on mechanical systems and components
