Job Overview

The Environmental Services Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the facility. This position involves overseeing the daily operations of the cleaning team, ensuring high standards of hygiene and sanitation are met throughout the property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct interviews, training sessions, and selection processes for team members.
  • Evaluate employee performance, providing constructive feedback and coaching to foster professional growth.
  • Address and resolve employee grievances promptly and effectively.
  • Administer disciplinary actions in line with established protocols.
  • Plan, supervise, and monitor the activities of team members in designated areas.
  • Guide and instruct staff on proper cleaning techniques and procedures.
  • Foster a positive and engaging work environment that enhances team morale.
  • Delegate projects and tasks as necessary.
  • Inspect public areas, ensuring cleanliness and addressing any issues immediately.
  • Ensure accountability for key control on a daily basis.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in the main storage area.
  • Conduct weekly inventories and inspections to manage costs and adhere to budget guidelines.
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of cleaning practices and equipment used in the casino environment.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage stressful situations with composure and flexibility in scheduling.
  • Assess and respond to guest needs effectively.
  • Uphold integrity and professionalism in all interactions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Capability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
  • Skill in managing employee conflicts with a calm demeanor.
  • Physical ability to navigate the property, including stairs and escalators.
  • Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, with agility in various physical tasks.
  • Respond effectively to visual and auditory signals.
  • Proficient in using computers and office equipment.
  • Tolerance for environments with dust, noise, and bright lighting.
  • Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Clear and persuasive communication skills.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in cleaning within a hotel or large facility.
  • Previous supervisory experience is essential.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an Environmental Services role or similar.
  • Professional appearance is required.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including holidays and weekends.
  • Solid understanding of cleaning protocols and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of chemical usage is preferred.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in work approach.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with computer applications is beneficial.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
