Job Overview

Position Summary: The Environmental Services Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the facility. This position involves overseeing the daily operations of the cleaning team and ensuring high standards of hygiene and sanitation are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the recruitment, training, and selection process for team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to promote professional growth.
  • Address and resolve employee grievances promptly and effectively.
  • Administer disciplinary actions in line with company policies when necessary.
  • Plan, supervise, and monitor the activities of the cleaning staff in designated areas.
  • Guide and instruct team members on their job responsibilities.
  • Foster a positive and engaging work environment to enhance employee morale.
  • Delegate tasks and projects as required.
  • Perform inspections of floors, stairways, elevators, and public spaces to ensure cleanliness standards are upheld.
  • Oversee key control measures to ensure accountability.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in the main storage area at all times.
  • Implement cost control measures by conducting regular inventories and inspections of supplies.
  • Possess a foundational understanding of cleaning protocols and equipment.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage stressful situations with composure.
  • Assess and respond to guest needs effectively.
  • Uphold the highest standards of integrity in all interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
  • Capability to navigate various areas of the property, including stairs and escalators.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Respond effectively to visual and auditory signals.
  • Proficient in operating computers and relevant office equipment.
  • Tolerance for environments with dust, noise, and bright lighting.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong decision-making skills in handling conflicts.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in cleaning services within a hotel or large facility.
  • Previous supervisory experience is essential.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an Environmental Services role or similar.
  • Professional appearance is expected.
  • Familiarity with cleaning procedures and chemical usage is preferred.
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
