As a Director Nursing Operations, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and management of designated care areas, ensuring excellence in patient/family service, staff growth and development, quality nursing care, and staff engagement and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and management of designated care areas, consistent with the philosophy, goals, and mission of NYU Langone Health.
- Assume responsibility and accountability for all facets of nursing practice and performance within designated areas, and for meeting all pertinent organizational goals and targets.
- Develop, foster, and sustain an environment of excellence in patient/family service, staff growth and development, quality nursing care, and staff engagement and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with interprofessional teams to ensure excellence in quality, patient experience, and efficiency.
- Develop positive and productive relationships across disciplines to establish strategic partnerships to achieve shared goals.
- Participate in and/or lead interdisciplinary quality and performance improvement projects pertinent to departmental and organizational goals and objectives.
- Foster positive and productive work and care environments, founded in the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion to attract and retain staff.

- Evaluate the performance of personnel in a fair and transparent manner.

- Coordinate care delivery using labor productivity data to plan and evaluate staffing patterns, discharge and/or volume targets, and to assist clinical leaders to plan and to validate staffing patterns.
- Role model service standards in actions and communications with patients, families, staff, and other disciplines.
- Design, implement, and evaluate programs and activities to ensure compliance with accreditation, regulatory standards, service standards, and policies at the organizational, local, state, and federal level.
- Participate in the development, approval, and implementation of nursing and organizational policy, incorporating the precepts of shared governance.
- Collect, analyze, and utilize data to drive practice changes that integrate quality, safety, patient experience, and productivity metrics to achieve excellence in patient and nursing outcomes.
- Foster high reliability concepts within the unit/organizational structure.
- Communicate with clarity and integrity to build trust with all stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of inquiry, innovation, and transformation with a focus on the future.
Master's Degree in Nursing is required. Certification in nursing leadership is required. Doctoral degree in clinical nursing practice or research is strongly preferred.
