The Ecoservices division of Ecovyst is seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to deliver project management expertise for capital initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency of its Sulfuric Acid Regeneration Units. This role will report directly to the Lead Project Engineer and is designed to foster a strong collaboration between the Engineering Department and various production units. The Project Engineer will primarily focus on supporting significant capital project requirements but may also assist other facilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate current chemical operations and recommend appropriate equipment and control methodologies.
  • Investigate operational challenges and work alongside the technical team to devise effective solutions.
  • Oversee, schedule, and coordinate all assigned capital projects efficiently.
  • Formulate, validate, and present project scopes along with cost assessments.
  • Prepare and submit requests for capital project funding.
  • Monitor project budgets through careful tracking and forecasting of expenses.
  • Utilize and/or create engineering spreadsheets, cost analysis tools, and scheduling applications.
  • Organize, prioritize, and reallocate resources throughout each project phase to ensure timely completion.
  • Procure necessary materials for project implementation.
  • Supervise field activities during construction phases.
  • Maintain comprehensive document control for all project-related files throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, policies, and technical specifications.
  • Prepare financial closure and acceptance documentation.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of project experience within a manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Familiarity with basic project management methodologies is preferred.
  • Experience in utilizing and developing engineering spreadsheets and calculations is necessary.
  • Candidate must be organized, systematic, independent, and self-driven.
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities are required.
  • Knowledge of local and state regulations, including OSHA standards, is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or chemical process simulation software is a plus.
  • Previous experience in project engineering or field management, including internships, is preferred.
