Position Overview

  • Responsible for coordinating with Project Team members to secure and allocate project resources throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Guides the creation of role definitions and responsibilities for the project, ensuring each team member comprehends their duties and deliverables.
  • Oversees overall program/project financials and timelines to fulfill business expectations.
  • Clearly articulates the direction and expectations for the Program/Project Team.
  • Accountable for the total costs and schedule of the project.
  • Acts as the primary liaison between the facility and the Corporate Capital Project Leadership Team, as well as the Business Capital Planning Manager.
  • Champions capital project workflows and methodologies as specified in the GPM Manual.
  • Ensures that essential data is accurate and complete prior to commencing detailed design work.
  • Leads all project gatekeeping evaluations and ensures all Front-End Loading (FEL) deliverables are achieved.
  • Prepares all necessary project funding documentation.
  • Collaborates with the Procurement team to ensure that procurement strategies are developed and executed in accordance with company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Ensures that commissioning and handover plans are effectively created.
  • Ensures that operational and maintenance procedures are established.
  • Works closely with Construction Leaders to streamline processes and resolve design challenges that may hinder construction efficiency.
  • Possesses the ability to collaborate with and manage design and EPC teams.
  • Demonstrates the capability to maintain a safe working environment and program, including but not limited to job site safety assessments, rigging plans, and environmental risk management.
  • Exhibits expertise in contingency planning and risk management.
  • Skilled in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 20 years of experience in Project Management within Operations or Supply Chain Leadership roles in the chemical manufacturing and/or petrochemical sectors.
  • A Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering is mandatory.
  • 15 years of experience in engineering project management and 8-10 years in plant leadership or engineering roles.
  • 5 years of experience as a plant engineer.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional teamwork capabilities and the ability to collaborate across various business functions.
  • Experience in Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles across all engineering disciplines relevant to typical chemical industry projects (Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Process Automation/DCS, Civil, Structural, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in leading multi-site, regional, and/or global project initiatives.
