PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: The role of the Logistics Support Specialist is to aid in advancing the overall mission of The Salvation Army through the various programs provided at the Reno Corps, under the guidance of the Warehouse Supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Organize daily routes for pickups and deliveries, establishing routes based on the existing system.
2. Execute all scheduled visits promptly and efficiently, focusing on revenue centers and designated pick-up calls.
3. Guide and oversee helpers, keeping in mind that these individuals are part of a rehabilitation initiative.
4. Create assigned routes by placing donation bags at residences adjacent to the pick-up locations.
5. Ensure the safety and proper handling of goods and materials during transport.
6. Take responsibility for the security and safety of the vehicle and equipment, including hand trucks and blankets.
7. Complete daily inspection reports and maintain driving logs, ensuring all equipment is in optimal condition.
8. Report any accidents involving the vehicle, personal injury, or property damage to the supervisor immediately and complete a written report upon return to the warehouse.
9. Represent The Salvation Army with professionalism, ensuring courteous treatment of all individuals encountered.
10. Promptly report any issues to the dispatcher.
11. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient in operating a 24-foot box truck.
- Capable of reading maps and utilizing GPS for route planning.
- Able to collaborate effectively with co-workers and beneficiaries.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
- Must possess a valid Nevada Class C Driver License.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Completion of The Salvation Army vehicle training course is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Must be able to grasp, push, and/or pull objects, reach overhead, and operate a telephone. Ability to lift a minimum of 100 pounds is essential, as this position involves handling furniture and other goods.

The Salvation Army enforces a policy that Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and assistance from a helper must be utilized when lifting heavy items.

Must be able to operate a computer and process written, visual, and/or verbal information, as well as use basic office equipment such as PCs, fax machines, telephones, calculators, copiers, and printers.

Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
