Position Overview

Tactical Air is actively looking for an Aerospace Maintenance Specialist to enhance our Maintenance team. This role will be integral in supporting Tactical Air's fleet of advanced fighter aircraft, drawing on over 75 years of collective expertise in tactical aviation upkeep and more than 30 years of military adversary contract maintenance. Our Maintenance personnel are a committed group of seasoned, A&P-certified, and tactical aircraft specialists, technicians, and logistics experts dedicated to ensuring safe and efficient ground maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate for the Aerospace Maintenance Specialist role will exhibit professionalism, high productivity, discipline, teamwork, technical proficiency, and responsiveness to the requirements of the organization, colleagues, and clients. Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, this position will conduct organizational, intermediate, and limited depot-level maintenance, which includes inspection, operational testing, repair, modification, and troubleshooting of all assigned aircraft, components, and equipment. The role will leverage advanced technical knowledge to address complex issues and provide technical support, guidance, and instruction to fellow team members as necessary.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma/GED with a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Current experience in the aircraft maintenance field, preferably within military or government aviation maintenance contracting.
  • Familiarity with high-performance military aircraft (F-5/T-38).
  • A&P Certification, or the capability to obtain certification.
  • Support Equipment Operator License (Tow Tractor, N2 Servicing Trailer, and Mobile Start Unit at a minimum).
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Preferred Experience/Skills
  • A&P certification.
Physical Requirements
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds (with assistance, if necessary).
  • Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls; reaching with hands and arms.
  • Regularly ascend/descend stairs and/or ladders.
Work Authorization
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and complete a U.S. government I-9 Form.
  • Tactical Air Support maintains a Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace. Pre-employment, random, or for cause drug/alcohol testing (including for marijuana) is required.
  • Pre-employment and ongoing physical certifications are mandatory.
  • Occasional exposure to aircraft hangar or warehouse environments with loud noises, fumes from engines and chemicals, unpredictable climate (hot/cold), and electrical shock, or trip or slip hazards.
  • May be required to handle hazardous materials.
  • Specific work hours will be determined by operational, departmental, or contractual needs.
  • Occasional evening, weekend, holiday, and overtime work may be necessary.
  • Occasional travel to various work sites throughout the U.S. may be required.
