Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager I to provide administrative leadership assistance to the operations of assigned departments within the Geisinger Health System. This role is responsible for business and market development, as well as all regulatory activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational accountability and administrative leadership for assigned areas, ensuring effective business operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as a department liaison with external constituents and participate in management forums to drive business growth and development.
  • Collaborate in developing, revising, and auditing department policies and operational procedures to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop business plans, including budgets, facilities and capital analyses, market analyses, growth plans, operational contingency plans, and information systems.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of strategic and tactical operational plans to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of assigned areas, including budget development and implementation, and financial analysis.
  • Develop and implement activities and tools to educate and focus staff on key performance indicators, driving business improvement and growth.
  • Facilitate active engagement and communication with department staff through formal meetings and informal interactions.
  • Handle employee relations activities, including coaching and counseling, to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
  • Assist with related activities for physician staff, including skill development and patient safety education.
  • Assess staff and facilitate skill development for all personnel as needed, ensuring a high-performing team.
  • Lead and monitor annual staff patient safety education, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Direct and monitor ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements in collaboration with performance improvement staff.
  • Monitor all incidents and ensure all events are reported immediately, driving a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Direct department activities to meet patient access and efficiency goals, ensuring a high-quality patient experience.
  • Guide outpatient care management activities, participating on teams designed to improve care and patient outcomes.
  • Direct preventative maintenance and repair of facilities, equipment, and grounds, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Coordinate purchasing activity, including monitoring inventory and supervising the ordering of items as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (Required), Master's Degree (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years Managerial/Supervisory experience (Required), Minimum of 3 years Healthcare experience (Required)
  • Certification(s) and License(s) as required by the position
  • Strong business acumen, leadership skills, and ability to drive business growth and improvement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze data and drive business decisions, with a focus on quality and patient safety
