Job Summary

As an Operations Manager I at Geisinger Health System, you will play a critical role in providing administrative leadership and business development expertise to assigned departments. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing operational accountability and administrative leadership for assigned areas.
  • Serving as a department liaison with outside constituents and participating in management forums.
  • Collaborating in developing, revising, and auditing department policies and operational procedures.
  • Developing business plans, including budgets, facilities, and capital analyses, market analyses, growth plans, and operational contingency plans.
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of strategic and tactical operational plans.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of assigned areas.
  • Developing, implementing, and achieving budgets and providing input into business plans, financial pro-formas, and operational contingency plans.
  • Implementing activities and tools to educate and focus staff on key performance indicators.
  • Facilitating active engagement and communication with department staff through formal meetings and informal interactions.
  • Handling employee relations activities, including coaching and counseling.
  • Assisting with related activities for physician staff.
  • Assessing staff and facilitating skill development as needed.
  • Leading and monitoring annual staff patient safety education.
  • Directing and monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements in collaboration with performance improvement staff.
  • Monitoring incidents and ensuring immediate reporting.
  • Directing department activities to meet patient access and efficiency goals.
  • Guiding outpatient care management activities.
  • Participating in teams designed to improve care.
  • Directing preventative maintenance and repair of facilities, equipment, and grounds, monitoring and maintaining interior and exterior cleanliness and aesthetics of facilities, and implementing security measures.
  • Coordinating purchasing activity, including monitoring inventory and supervising the ordering of items as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (Required), Master's Degree (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years Managerial/Supervisory experience (Required), Minimum of 3 years Healthcare experience (Required)
  • Certification(s) and License(s) as required by the position
  • Skills: Builds Relationships, Interpersonal Communication, Manages Conflict And Crisis, Mentoring Skills
