Key Responsibilities:

As an integral part of the product development team, the Senior Product Development Engineer I will be instrumental in the design and creation of next-generation medical devices, accessories, and related tools. This position will also involve refining existing products to improve reliability and cost-effectiveness.

In this role, you will:
  • Design electro-mechanical components, mechanisms, and systems for our advanced medical devices and accessories.
  • Conduct requirements analysis, architectural design, and engineering specifications.
  • Support ongoing engineering efforts by identifying root causes and implementing design modifications.
  • Develop testing fixtures for design parameters and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate on intellectual property assessments and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Design components with a focus on reliability and durability.
  • Perform tolerance analysis and material evaluations.
  • Assist with regulatory submissions and product reliability assessments.
  • Work collaboratively with various teams and develop training programs.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and regulations in all work.
Required Skills:
  • Proficient in designing complex parts and assemblies using SolidWorks.
  • Effective use of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to conduct detailed tolerance analysis and interpret data.
  • Experience with electronics testing equipment and programming in Python.
  • Strong communication skills for conveying technical information and collaborating in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to create testing methodologies and documentation.
  • Familiarity with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality processes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in medical device design and testing.
  • Capability to lift and move items weighing up to 45 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits:

The starting base salary for this position ranges from $105,000 to $135,000 annually, complemented by additional benefits such as bonuses and equity. Tandem also provides a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare options, paid time off, and a 401k plan with company matching.
