Position Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Specializing in Semiconductor Equipment)

Employment Type: W2 / C2C / 1099

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 6-8 years of experience or a Master's degree with 5+ years in machine design, preferably in semiconductor or specialized machinery.
  • Demonstrate at least 2 years of hands-on experience with Unigraphics NX and Team Center Engineering.
  • Have a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, including welding, machined components, and sheet metal fabrication.
  • Show knowledge of materials such as aluminum, various stainless steel grades, and suitable plastics.
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to complex engineering drawings.
  • Generate and maintain comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Exhibit the ability to create manufacturing drawings independently and conduct reviews.
  • Possess strong skills in GD&T, stack-up analysis, and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and collaborate with FEA analysts to provide insights and improvement suggestions.

Essential Soft Skills:

  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in articulating design concepts.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers across various departments and disciplines.
  • Demonstrate self-organization and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Possess strong proficiency with tools, procedures, and programming languages relevant to the role.
  • Hold a Master's degree or have at least five (5) years of pertinent experience.
  • Lead the development of tools utilized in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Oversee the creation of tools for servicing large capital equipment.
  • Manage multiple projects throughout the entire product development lifecycle.
  • Apply and review FEA within the design process.
  • Conduct tolerance studies and guide other engineers in performing similar analyses.
  • Fabricate individual components and understand manufacturing best practices.
  • Have hands-on experience in assembling complex systems.
  • Draft system-level requirements and perform traceability analysis throughout documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assume engineering accountability for factory layouts, guiding projects from concept through to manufacturing.
  • Ensure compliance with internal development processes at all design cycle stages.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing, integration, and facilities teams to ensure seamless design realization.
  • Understand methodologies for clean product design suitable for controlled environments.
  • Perform analysis for manufacturability in low-volume products and tools, focusing on configuration management.
  • Develop module or system concepts to fulfill product specifications.
  • Validate designs using production modules and facilities.
  • Adhere to project plans, including key deliverables, timelines, and budget management.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of designs, including BOMs, drawings, and procedures.
