Position Overview:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will engage in a contract role with potential for transition to a permanent position. This role requires a commitment of 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize your expertise in solid modeling and detailed drawing creation to support our CAD Engineering team.
  • Focus on the development and maintenance of mechanical assemblies while managing drawing revisions for change orders.
  • Process change orders and ensure documentation is updated in Agile.
  • Create solid models and detailed drawings for components using Creo.
  • Develop sub-assemblies and complete laser assemblies within Creo.
  • Engage in mechanical design for various manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal, additive manufacturing, and molding.
  • Perform calculations and analyze mechanical tolerance stack-ups.
  • Address and resolve mechanical fit and performance challenges.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to facilitate the fabrication of mechanical components.
  • Design production fixtures to aid in assembly and alignment processes.
  • Work alongside other engineering teams, including Optics, Chambers, Systems, and Controls, to contribute to sub-system design.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on evolving business needs.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required; an advanced degree (M.S.) is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in the field is essential, which may include a combination of professional experience and educational qualifications beyond a B.S. degree.
