Position Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Overview:
This is a contract role with the potential for permanent placement, offering a 40-hour work week. We are seeking a candidate with a robust background in solid modeling, detailed engineering drawings, and mechanical design to become a vital part of our CAD Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain mechanical assemblies while executing drawing updates for change orders related to advanced laser products.
2. Process change orders and ensure accurate documentation updates in Agile systems.
3. Create solid models and detailed drawings for components using Creo software.
4. Design sub-assemblies and complete laser assemblies in Creo.
5. Engage in mechanical design for various manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal work, additive manufacturing, and molding.
6. Perform calculations and analyze mechanical tolerance stack-ups.
7. Address and resolve mechanical fit and performance challenges.
8. Collaborate with suppliers for the fabrication of mechanical components.
9. Design production fixtures to facilitate assembly and alignment.
10. Work alongside other engineering teams such as Optics, Chambers, Systems, and Controls on subsystem design initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities:
Other tasks may be assigned as business needs evolve.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering; a Master's Degree is advantageous.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in the field or a combination of relevant experience and advanced education beyond a Bachelor's degree.
