Job Description

Last Mile Health is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations and ensure the integrity of financial reporting for the organization.

The Financial Controller will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing the annual consolidated audit process, and providing support and oversight of Country-specific and donor-required audits.

This role requires a strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and donor compliance, as well as significant experience coordinating external audit activities.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial reports, while adhering to relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate US GAAP standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for the entire organization.
  • Review and approve US-based financial transactions.
  • Maintain internal control and safeguards for revenue, expenditures, and statutory compliance.
  • Manage all external audits.
  • Develop organization-wide financial policies and procedures to guide country finance teams.
  • Manage organizational cash flow forecasting.
  • Oversee the usage and maintenance of financial systems and software.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and donor compliance.
  • Significant experience coordinating external audit activities.
  • Keen analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated years of experience with financial software and ERP systems.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board, or other outside partners.
