Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Financial Officer to join our team at Partners Healthcare System. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the financial strategy and operations of our organization, ensuring long-term financial sustainability and growth.

The Chief Financial Officer will provide executive leadership and oversight for all financial operations, including financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. They will also be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the organization's mission and objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, with experience in non-profit healthcare organizations. They will possess a deep understanding of financial accounting principles, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and financial reporting. Additionally, they will have experience with federal grant management regulations and a strong understanding of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations.

The Chief Financial Officer will be a team player committed to working with diverse populations and will have a commitment to the health of our communities. They will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and leadership skills, able to build relationships and communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the financial strategy and operations of the organization
  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the organization's mission and objectives
  • Provide executive leadership and oversight for all financial operations
  • Develop and manage budgets and financial plans
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws
  • Lead the annual operating and capital budgeting process
  • Manage and develop financial information technology systems
  • Establish and update policies and procedures for internal controls
  • Collaborate with staff in grant applications and management
  • Oversee and manage all financial and regulatory matters related to the organization's 340B and Retail Pharmacy
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for executive management and the board of directors
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships
  • Assure compliance with state, federal, and local governmental requirements and regulations
Requirements
  • Master's degree in accounting or finance
  • 10 years of experience in financial management, with a focus on non-profit healthcare organizations
  • Experience managing state and federal grants preferred
  • Proven senior leadership experience in managing financial operations and providing strategic financial guidance in a non-profit organization with an annual budget of at least $25 million
  • Strong background in financial management, with experience in non-profit healthcare organizations
  • Deep understanding of financial accounting principles, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and financial reporting
  • Experience with federal grant management regulations and a strong understanding of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations
  • Strategic thinker with excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
