Job Summary

The Patient Access Representative is a vital member of the Gila Regional Medical Center team, responsible for ensuring a seamless patient experience from registration to treatment. This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register patients in a timely and accurate manner, maintaining a high level of data entry accuracy.
  • Verify patient eligibility and obtain prior authorizations as required.
  • Process paperwork and documentation, ensuring complete and accurate records.
  • Collect copayments and deductibles, and offer discounts according to hospital policy.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to patient inquiries and directing visitors through hospital areas.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments, such as Radiology, regarding pending authorizations and rescheduling.
  • Participate in staff meetings and in-service programs, staying up-to-date on hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; 1-2 years of college preferred.
  • Customer service experience required, with insurance billing experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
