Position: Automation Engineer

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to enhance our automation capabilities. This role involves the design and execution of PLC-based automation control systems that integrate motion control, advanced sensors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and actuators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement advanced automation control systems.
  • Provide support for existing automation systems.
  • Conduct Level 1 control system programming in accordance with functional descriptions and mechanical/hydraulic layouts.
  • Engage in complex assignments that necessitate the creation of innovative engineering techniques and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with local project teams, including project managers, engineers, and support staff, as well as external stakeholders to deliver engineering solutions for technical challenges.
  • Perform integrated testing and simulation of the complete system prior to customer delivery.
  • Conduct on-site commissioning and training as required.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in PLC programming, particularly with RSLogix5000 and HMI systems.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Background in automation practices and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Siemens TIA Portal or Rockwell RSLogix5000 is preferred.
  • Ability to apply engineering principles to solve design challenges.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary to support project activities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, along with proficient computer skills.
