Job Summary

Mercy Health is seeking a skilled Clinical Support Specialist to provide technical assistance in EEG, EKG, Cardiac Stress Lab, Echo, and Cardiac Monitoring. The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing patients for testing, obtaining medical histories, and explaining procedures to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for and assist neurologists with all technical aspects of testing
  • Obtain patients' histories and any contraindications, explain procedures to patients, apply electrodes, perform testing, and communicate with the neurology department
  • Maintain accurate departmental records and files for testing, assist in scheduling, pre-certification, corporate compliance, charge capture, and denial management of procedures
  • Participate and assist in the departmental Performance Improvement Plan, maintain safety and infection control measures, and maintain clinical competencies and credentialing
  • Transport patients within the hospital as needed
Requirements
  • Current EEG certification by Continuing Medical Education or the ASET Neurodiagnostic Society (preferred)
  • Current CPR certification
  • Experience with cardiac telemetry (preferred)
