Job Summary

At Bon Secours Mercy Health, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and improving health outcomes. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality treatment and support to patients under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and implementing educational, vocational, and recreational programs established by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Instruct, motivate, and assist patients and their families in continued occupational therapy programs and adaptive equipment use.
  • Observe and report patient responses to treatment and progress to the Occupational Therapist.
  • Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist and other healthcare team members to exchange and discuss patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs.
  • Assist in assessing clients' daily living skills and capabilities to determine extent of abilities and limitations.
  • Design and adapt equipment in working and living environments.
  • Precept students from participating colleges and universities in clinical experience and internships.
  • Stay up-to-date with current developments and new technology in occupational therapy.
  • Provide formal orientation to new Occupational Therapy Assistants, aides, and volunteers.
  • Maintain a safe work environment, including equipment, and notify appropriate personnel if necessary.

Requirements:

  • 2-year/Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
  • Licensed in the State of Ohio PT/OT/AT Board
  • CPR Certification preferred
