Position: Maintenance Manager

Location: 701 W Hamburg St, Baltimore MD

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a staffing plan for the maintenance department.
  • Collaborate with HR to interview, hire, and retain skilled staff.
  • Maintain a documented work order system for tracking maintenance activities.
  • Keep an updated inventory of machinery, production, and warehouse equipment.
  • Oversee the Maximo warehouse management system.
  • Work with management and other departments to plan preventive maintenance and schedule inspections.
  • Consult with equipment manufacturers and internal resources to troubleshoot installation and operational issues.
  • Review inspection and repair reports, monitoring the progress of major overhauls to assess efficiency and quality.
  • Direct the repair of machinery and oversee electrical or plumbing systems.
  • Prepare work schedules for maintenance and facilities teams to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Analyze maintenance-related spreadsheets to identify abnormalities and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) standards.
  • Promote a safety culture in the warehouse, adhering to OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with leadership to meet food safety standards.
  • Participate in third-party audits.
  • Assist the Director of Operations in developing annual operating plans and managing budgets.
  • Manage warehouse projects, including acquiring bids and scheduling contractors.
  • Conduct departmental meetings to communicate team results and corporate initiatives.
  • Complete personnel evaluations and reviews.
  • Mentor and develop maintenance leadership within the team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to develop and manage fixed labor, utility, and repair budgets.
  • Experience in managing capital projects.
  • Understanding of GFSI food safety standards and compliance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficient in identifying mechanical equipment issues.
  • Ability to develop solutions for a variety of moderate scope and complexity problems.
  • Competence in reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints, including electrical and plumbing layouts.
  • Ability to perceive auditory warning signals in a warehouse environment.
