Job Overview:
As a leading technology company, Amazon is seeking a dedicated and innovative Applied Scientist to join our Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team. This role is pivotal in developing cutting-edge Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) solutions utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs) and multimodal systems.

Key Responsibilities:
In this position, you will collaborate with a team of skilled professionals to create groundbreaking algorithms and modeling techniques that push the boundaries of LLM capabilities. Your contributions will have a direct influence on our customers through products and services that harness advanced speech and language technologies.

Team Mission:
Our AGI team is committed to delivering versatile multimodal foundation models that facilitate seamless speech-to-speech interactions across diverse applications. We are responsible for the pre-training (PT) and supervised fine-tuning (SFT) of LLMs, partnering with various teams to achieve superior performance in all speech-related functionalities. Our support extends to product teams, enabling them to provide innovative conversational AI solutions tailored to a wide array of customers and use cases.

Basic Qualifications:
- PhD or Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in developing models for business applications.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
- Familiarity with neural deep learning techniques and machine learning methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with prominent deep learning frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- Over 3 years of experience in creating machine learning models for commercial applications.
- Knowledge of generative models relevant to speech and text generation.
- Background in conducting research with publications or patents in esteemed peer-reviewed venues.
- Strong communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.

Compensation:
Our compensation reflects the labor market across various US regions. The base salary for this role ranges from $136,000 to $222,200, depending on geographic location and individual qualifications. Additional compensation may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package.
