Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in physical, visual, and auditory screening examinations of students and staff.
  • Administer first aid and emergency treatment to students and staff.
  • Prepare, maintain, and interpret health records for school authorities, teachers, and parents.
  • Arrange transportation for sick or injured students or staff to hospital, home, or medical facilities.
  • Report on general safety and sanitary conditions.
  • Consult with attendance teachers and staff members on health factors related to non-attendance and communicable disease.
  • Prepare records and reports as required.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a school of nursing registered by the State Education Department.
  • Possession of a NYS License as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • One year full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a Registered Professional Nurse in a healthcare facility.
