Long-Term Substitute Teacher

Ombudsman Educational Services, a dynamic organization with a social mission to offer hope, is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher to join our team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of students.

As a Long-Term Substitute Teacher, you will be responsible for increasing student achievement by implementing instructional practices and strategies endorsed by ChanceLight Education and in accordance with Ombudsman policies. You will develop daily lesson plans and classroom schedules, deliver instruction, and oversee classroom activities using curriculum materials and educational software.

• Develop and implement daily lesson plans and classroom schedules that reflect state and school requirements.
• Deliver instruction and oversee classroom activities using curriculum materials and educational software.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and support staff to provide instructional support and approved modifications to the curriculum.
• Implement standards for student behavior to ensure a safe, secure, and effective learning environment.
• Maintain regular contact with students' parents/guardians to inform them of student progress and areas of difficulty.
• Assess student progress through consistent review of classroom data collection and recording systems.
• Stay up-to-date with research-based practices and developments in subject areas, resources, and professional development.
• Project a positive role model image for students and respond constructively to feedback.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a related field.
• Meet all state substitute teaching credential and/or licensing requirements.
• Prior experience working in special education and/or classroom settings is preferred.
• Prior experience in related grade levels and/or subject matters is preferred.
• Prior experience working with children in alternative education program settings is preferred.
