About the Role

Central Maine Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Representative to join our team. As a Patient Services Representative, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive exceptional care and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Registration and Registration: Verify patient demographic data, obtain signatures on required forms, and collect payments and balances on accounts.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Utilize centralized scheduling systems to schedule appointments, verify and update patient demographic information, and transfer patients to registration for updates.
  • Customer Service: Engage patients using exceptional customer service practices, respond to patient inquiries, and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and physicians using multiple advanced communication tools, including phone, email, and online chat.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain private physician office charts, copy, file, and scan insurance cards as indicated by procedure, and complete daily reconciliation of cash, appointments, and charges.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of work experience in directly communicating and providing service to patients or public required; preferably in a healthcare-related field.
  • Skills: Demonstrated proficiency with data entry/keyboarding, excellent communication and customer service skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
