Job Title: Clinical Informatics Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Informatics Specialist to join our team at Cooper University Health Care. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing informatics skill-based learning for clinicians and staff, as well as providing training and support for new EHR implementations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Create and implement informatics skill-based learning programs for clinicians and staff, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively use our electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Training and Support: Provide comprehensive training and support for new EHR implementations, ensuring a smooth transition for our staff and clinicians.
  • User Manual Development: Develop and maintain user manuals, policies, and procedures to ensure our staff and clinicians have the necessary resources to effectively use our EHR system.
  • Application Enablement: Work with administrative departments and IT security to enable applications for user provisioning, ensuring our staff and clinicians have access to the necessary tools and resources.
  • Clinical Training Curriculum: Design, develop, and update clinical training curriculum to ensure our staff and clinicians have the necessary knowledge and skills to provide high-quality patient care.
  • New Hire Training: Support the design, coordination, and delivery of new hire training programs, ensuring our new staff and clinicians have the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively use our EHR system.
  • Needs Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct needs assessments, program evaluations, and end-user proficiency tests to ensure our informatics skill-based learning programs are effective and meet the needs of our staff and clinicians.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain associated record-keeping documents, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Training Materials: Proactively maintain and develop continuously updated training materials, ensuring our staff and clinicians have access to the latest information and resources.
  • Onsite Training and Support: Provide onsite training and issue resolution support, ensuring our staff and clinicians have the necessary support to effectively use our EHR system.
  • Helpdesk Support: Serve as a resource to helpdesk staff in ticket resolution, ensuring our staff and clinicians have access to the necessary support and resources.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in training, information technology, healthcare operations, or as a super user or trainer for EMR/EHR deployments.
  • Education: High school diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Certification: EPIC TRAINING Certification desired.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Training Experience: Instructor-led classroom training &/or experience in other training delivery modes.
  • Training Techniques: Conceptual and practical understanding of various training techniques for users with various learning styles.
  • System Customization: Ability to customize and configure clinical systems to support clinic workflow and clinical best practices.
