Lead Support Specialist

Eden Autism Services is a distinguished community-services provider and not-for-profit organization, dedicated to supporting individuals with autism for over four decades.
Established in 1975, Eden began as a close-knit educational institution for individuals with autism and has since expanded to offer programs from early childhood through young adulthood.
Additionally, Eden provides essential services for adults with autism, including residential living and employment opportunities, along with clinical and training support for families and professionals.
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Lead Support Specialist to deliver essential life skills training and behavioral support programs to individuals in their living environments and within the community, tailored to their unique therapeutic requirements.
This role involves a rotating schedule of three days on and three days off, including overnight shifts and weekend coverage.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupervision
- Oversee the shift activities of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and substitutes; assist in conducting Teacher Quality Assessments (TQAs) and performance evaluations.
- Facilitate training for residential staff.
Contribute to the creation and execution of Individual Habilitation Plans (IHPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) for assigned individuals; provide troubleshooting as necessary.
Ensure accurate data collection on all teaching and behavioral support initiatives and review for progress.
Administrative Duties- Implement residential schedules to guarantee adequate staffing for all shifts.
- Assist in preparing monthly reports related to behavioral, clinical, financial, and medical matters.
- Maintain and update participant performance data using relevant software.
- Support the organization of medical and dental appointments and follow-ups.
- Assist in monitoring budget-related activities for residential services.
- Complete and submit weekly attendance records and time-off requests.
Perform light maintenance tasks, including changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and simple furniture repairs.
Ensure safe living conditions by conducting tasks such as snow removal and maintaining an organized environment.
Communication and Collaboration- Maintain professional and proactive communication with families and colleagues.
- Engage in regular meetings with supervisors and staff to discuss participant needs.
- Report any incidents that may jeopardize the safety and effectiveness of residential services.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required; an Associate's degree in Social Services or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of two years of direct care experience, preferably with individuals with developmental disabilities; one year of supervisory experience is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and maintaining mobility to ensure participant safety.
- Strong understanding of applied behavioral analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic math skills for handling financial documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
