Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Exploratory Data Analysis: Perform in-depth analysis of healthcare claims and authorizations data to identify trends and insights.
  • Analysis Development: Design, document, and develop financial, clinical, and utilization analyses using tools such as SQL, Excel, and SAS.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct ad hoc analyses to support business questions and provide data-driven insights.
  • Methodology Development: Participate in defining issues to be studied and develop methodologies to address these issues.
  • Reporting and Communication: Provide regular status reports and communicate complex data findings to various levels of the organization.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate and mentor analytic efforts performed by in-house staff or outside consultants to ensure project completion according to the project plan.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: 3+ years of experience with transact-SQL (MS SQL or Oracle), experience working with normalized and denormalized data structures, and experience with SAS, SPSS, and/or other data mining tools.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated competency in developing efficient and effective solutions to complex business problems, experience with healthcare medical and pharmacy claims data manipulation and analysis, and a strong understanding of CPT and ICD-9 codes.
  • Education: Master's degree in a technical or analytic field (e.g., computer science, statistics).
  • Soft Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, effective listening and communication skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
