Position Summary:

Acuity Innovations is looking for a Senior Test and Evaluation Range Liaison to collaborate with our team in supporting the United States Space Force Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM) Test and Evaluation Squadrons (TES) as a liaison to the NSTTC. An active TS/SCI clearance is mandatory.

Ideal candidates will have a background in the acquisition lifecycle and various phases of the test and evaluation process. Strong candidates will possess experience in contractor or developmental testing, operational testing, and live-fire testing, particularly concerning space systems. Familiarity with evaluating both small subsystem test results and major system program outcomes is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should have knowledge of significant DoD acquisition programs relevant to the Space Force acquisition process. Successful candidates will be skilled at deconstructing complex systems into functional components and defining applicable test objectives for each. Test Engineers/Operations Analysts must be capable of self-education to remain current with the best T&E and M&S tools and techniques for capability evaluation. They must also comprehend the advantages and limitations of various techniques for addressing specific challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and coordinating range assets for space systems tests and experiments.
  • Create and review plans and programs to support NSTTC development.
  • Integrate current and future range capabilities into test plans, Test Information Sheets, Safety Packages, Data Analysis Management Plans, Technical and Safety Review Board Briefs, Test Readiness Briefs, Test Cards, and Test/Analysis Reports as needed.
  • Collaborate with programs to review systems, subsystems, and components to ensure the Data Management and Analysis Plan (DMAP) facilitates proper data collection for real-time and post-mission data processing, evaluation, and analysis to meet test objectives.
  • Execute simulations to assess or evaluate system effectiveness or suitability under relevant operational conditions and scenarios.
  • Oversee the collection of M&S data and guide test result evaluation to ascertain if system configurations and architecture meet specifications and performance expectations.
  • Develop Test Reports and Presentations of complex data sets.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations Research, Engineering, Mathematics, Probability, Statistics, or a related field
  • Over 10 years of proven Systems and/or Test Engineering experience within space, ground, operations, and sustainment segments of DoD
  • Expert-level understanding of test, evaluation, and experimentation, including distinctions between developmental, operational, and integrated testing
  • Proficient with methodologies such as modeling and simulation, laboratory testing, open-air testing, and live-fire testing, along with supporting skills like modeling and simulation, system decomposition, and validation of models and simulations.
  • Team-oriented mindset to provide integrated engineering and analysis support for design reviews, test planning sessions, test card preparation, disciplined test execution, and collaborative authorship of post-flight reports.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing roles and responsibilities in alignment with customer needs.
  • Technical expertise in Space Domain Awareness, particularly in areas such as space-related data communications, EO/IR/RF Sensors, Spacecraft GNC, Space system Architectures, Space Battle Management and Control, and Cyber.
  • An active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within the DoD or as a Defense Contractor specializing in test and evaluation
  • Familiarity with M&S and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) testing and associated Verification, Validation, and Accreditation (VV&A) processes
  • Knowledge of orbital mechanics and astrodynamics
  • Understanding of space operations
