Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve meals for patients, employees, medical staff, and visitors.
  • Clean and maintain the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Document and maintain cleaning and temperature logs.
  • Reconcile deliveries and put away stock.
  • Organize and prepare food for patients and staff.
  • Maintain high standards of kitchen sanitation and employee hygiene.
  • Document food labeling, dating, and kitchen procedures.
  • Process, store, and prepare food on a tight timeline.
  • Provide excellent customer service to behavioral health patients and staff.
  • Assist the Lead Cook with preparation of special diets and food-related allergies.

Requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • Current NCI certification (or obtained within the first 30 days of hire).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend recipes and instructions.
  • Mathematical skills to adjust recipes and measurements.
  • Ability to use kitchen equipment and maintain hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
