Job Description

The Halifax team is seeking a skilled Help Desk Agent Technician to join our IT Service Desk. As a key member of our team, you will provide end-user support and maintenance within our desktop and mobile computing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and maintenance for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex desktop problems for end-users
  • Collaborate with server and network administrators to ensure efficient operation of our desktop computing environment
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding desktop problems
  • Coordinate with remote sites and third parties for testing and conducting video and audio conferences
Requirements
  • Excellent technical knowledge of desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile computing devices
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting and installation experience
  • Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards
  • Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Office software components
  • Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories
  • Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides
  • Ability to conduct research into PC hardware and software issues and products as required
  • Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong customer-service orientation
