The YWCA Minneapolis is seeking a Racial Equity Specialist to serve as a key member of the Racial Justice and Public Policy team. This is a hybrid position.
The Racial Equity Specialist will utilize their knowledge of anti-racist and social change frameworks, DEI and inclusion coaching and consulting to lead and facilitate workshops, delivering the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) assessment and individual debrief sessions in support of YWCA Minneapolis' overall mission.
Responsibilities- **Consulting and Facilitation**
- Develops and delivers race equity, diversity, and inclusion consulting services, including delivering IDI introduction sessions, results, and group debriefs.
- Leads and facilitates creative and inclusive workshop experiences.
- Supports departmental planning initiatives.
- Writes client proposals and coordinates client meetings.
- Ensures high-quality services are delivered to clients and participants.
- Develops and prepares educational materials as needed and partners with the Race Equity Learning Manager and Public Policy Manager where appropriate.
- Serves as a Racial Justice Facilitator.
- **Racial Justice and Public Policy Events**
- Supports the facilitation and planning of all RJPP events and advocacy initiatives.
- Contributes to ideation and writing for blog posts, newsletters, and promotional materials.
- Assists in team strategic planning process.
- Serves on organizational committees as needed.
- Serves as YWCA Minneapolis Racial Justice Ambassador and representative externally and internally as needed.
- **Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field of study.
- 1-3 years of experience in program management with strong facilitation and/or training background or equivalent education and experience.
- IDI qualified administrator highly desired.
- Ability to establish positive relationships with business partners, internally and externally.
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respectfully respond to common inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, funders, volunteers, and members of the community.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, board of directors, staff, volunteers, and community groups.
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of cultures, styles, backgrounds, and perspectives.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
- Prior experience with Racial Equity and DEI training highly desired.
- Experience with circle facilitation.
