About the Opportunity

YWCA Minneapolis is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Vice President of Race Equity and Public Policy. This leadership role will provide strategic direction and oversight for the organization's race equity and public policy initiatives, ensuring alignment with the YWCA's mission, vision, and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive race equity and public policy strategy, including program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to a team of staff, ensuring effective program delivery and achievement of departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the senior leadership team, to advance the organization's mission and goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including community leaders, government officials, and other stakeholders, to advance the organization's public policy agenda.
  • Develop and manage budgets, ensuring effective financial management and resource allocation.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant policy issues and trends, providing expert guidance and recommendations to the organization.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Public Policy, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in program management, grassroots advocacy, and lobbying/government relations.
  • Proven entrepreneurial and business start-up experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate the direction of racial justice and the intersection of racial justice and public policy in relation to YWCA's mission, strategy, and goals.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with experience in managing teams and developing staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present information to large audiences.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and/or education in leadership development or reflective leadership.
  • Marketing or sales experience a plus.
  • Leadership experience in the non-profit sector.
What We Offer

YWCA Minneapolis offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $110,000 DOQ, as well as a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.

This is an exempt position, and the successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
