Job Summary

Tehachapi Cement LLC is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Professional to join our team. As an Environmental Professional, you will be responsible for ensuring the company's environmental compliance and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement environmental management systems to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential environmental issues and develop corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure understanding of requirements and obtain achievable compliance requirements.
  • Manage the company's environmental budget and ensure effective implementation of environmental projects.
  • Train plant personnel and contractors on relevant environmental issues and regulations.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of Federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Develop and implement effective environmental and management systems to ensure full compliance.
  • Communicate and implement systems required compliance activities to plant employees.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as environmental, scientific, or engineering discipline; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of environmental experience in mining, aggregate, RMC, or similar industry.
  • High level of knowledge of Federal, State/Province, and local environmental and land use laws and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of all environmental laws and regulations affecting aggregate production, ready mix concrete manufacturing, asphalt manufacturing, and cement manufacturing.
  • Tactfulness enabling the independent audit and inspection of industrial operations, identify compliant and non-compliant issues, and assertively communicate findings to management, as well as employees performing the associated tasks.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability managing a multi-faceted environmental program including air and water quality, hazardous waste and materials, biological species issues, mining reclamation, and soil and water remediation.
  • Ability to independently learn and understand technical, regulatory, and external issues regarding the environmental programs at the plant.
  • Ability to positively interact with regulatory agencies to ensure understanding of requirements and obtain achievable compliance requirements.
  • Ability to independently develop, lead, and implement effective environmental and management systems to ensure full compliance.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and implement systems required compliance activities to plant employees who are tasked with performing them.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Experience creating environmental permit applications and reports for submittal to external parties including regulatory agencies.
