Job Summary

Tehachapi Cement LLC is seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous improvement of equipment reliability and overall plant performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Reliability Improvement: Conduct root-cause failure analyses of significant or chronic equipment failures and develop reliability action plans to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Inspection Program Management: Ensure the inspection program is executed using proper techniques and that equipment condition is accurately assessed.
  • Capital Improvement Planning: Participate in the development of the annual capital improvement and replacement budget to meet asset management goals and objectives.
  • Maintenance Program Development: Develop and refine the preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PDM) program to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Data Management: Manage, control, and analyze all data, records, and equipment histories to continually review and refine inspection frequencies.
  • Failure Analysis and Prevention: Develop solutions to repetitive equipment failures and process losses, and implement ways to reduce maintenance needs and eliminate failures.
  • Lubrication Program Management: Establish and manage the lubrication program and oil analysis to ensure all equipment is properly lubricated and oil analysis is performed on critical equipment.
  • Installation and Repair Approval: Participate in the approval of all new installations and major repairs, including those done by contractors, to ensure maintainability and reliability.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all assigned work is completed in compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Safety and Environmental Responsibilities: Complete all responsibilities while strictly adhering to all company safety policies and procedures, and support plant environmental programs and requirements with engineering solutions and day-to-day maintenance activities.
  • On-Call Rotation: Participate in the on-call rotation within the maintenance department.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field (engineering, science, or equivalent).
  • Training and Certification: Continual improvement training/certification highly preferred (e.g., Lean Six Sigma).
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Organizational and Time Management Skills: Detail-oriented and organized with strong time management skills.
  • Supervisory Experience: Supervisory experience a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Project, CMMS (preferably JDE), and action plans development and management.
  • Plant Operations and Maintenance Experience: Experience in plant operations and/or maintenance preferred.
