About the Opportunity

Dignity Health Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Medicine Physician to join our team in Tehachapi, CA. As a Family Medicine Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our healthcare team, and contributing to the growth and development of our medical group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care:
    • Diagnose and treat various medical conditions, including acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and diseases.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, taking into account the patient's medical history, physical examination, and laboratory results.
    • Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories, including taking a patient's medical history, performing a physical examination, and ordering diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, including explaining medical information, answering questions, and providing emotional support.
    • Provide clear and concise medical information, including explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and test results.
    • Foster a collaborative and patient-centered approach to healthcare, working with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documenting medical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
    • Document medical information, including test results, diagnoses, and treatment plans, in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations, including accurately coding and billing for services provided.
  • Diagnostic Procedures:
    • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work and imaging studies, to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
    • Perform procedures as needed, including biopsies, injections, and other medical procedures.
    • Collaborate with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation, including referring patients to specialists and consulting with specialists on complex cases.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
    • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions, including sharing patient information and collaborating on care plans.
    • Provide consultative services to other healthcare providers, including providing medical expertise and guidance on complex cases.
  • Quality Improvement:
    • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives, including reviewing and analyzing clinical outcomes and implementing changes to enhance patient care and safety.
    • Review and analyze clinical outcomes, including identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care and safety.
    • Implement changes to enhance patient care and safety, including developing and implementing new policies and procedures.
  • Compliance:
    • Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice, including following hospital policies and procedures and adhering to regulatory requirements.
    • Stay informed about healthcare regulations and compliance requirements, including attending training sessions and staying up-to-date on changes to regulations and requirements.
    • Participate in quality audits to ensure adherence to standards, including reviewing patient records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Continuous Learning:
    • Stay abreast of medical advancements and best practices, including attending conferences and workshops and staying current on new developments in the field.
    • Participate in ongoing medical education and training, including completing continuing education requirements and staying current on new developments in the field.
    • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines, including developing and implementing new policies and procedures.
    Requirements
    • A valid and unrestricted California medical license.
    • Board eligible or board certified in Family Medicine or a related specialty.
    • Completion of an accredited post-graduate training program in Family Medicine or a related specialty.
