Mission Critical Voice Systems Engineer for Secure Launch Capabilities

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Mission Critical Voice Systems Engineer to support our client's requirements in a dynamic and challenging setting. Located at Schriever SFB, the successful candidate will be responsible for executing, refining, and supervising voice system/hardware engineering operations throughout the operational lifecycle of customer-directed mission applications.
The VS/HW Engineer will work collaboratively with teammates, key stakeholders, and the Government customer to ensure mission continuity and support to the IC community. In this role, you will perform efficiently under dynamic conditions, skillfully navigating evolving priorities, and facilitating reliable and consistent mission application systems engineering in a complex computing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide system-level engineering support for mission-critical IT systems, related telecommunications trunk circuits, voicemail, and telephone instrument units.
- Ensure the availability of mission-critical launch communications systems through proactive Tier 2 hardware maintenance.
- Update or create knowledge articles to allow Tier 1 to resolve issues without escalation to Tier 2.
- Perform daily system checks for alerts or degradation of service or system.
- Support enterprise voice over IP (VoIP) phone systems, including Cisco VoIP phone units, voicemail, and Call Manager System.
- Implement technical solutions through deep analysis and understanding of impact to the end-product/solution.
- Perform incident and problem management to resolve or escalate issues to restore service.
- Support configuration management and change management activities.
Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Have a BS degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience.
- Hold a current DoD 8570 certification applicable to the position (typically Security+).
- Understand complex, classified, mission-specific communications infrastructure and technology supporting US strategic launch capabilities.
- Have launch or mission operations experience.
- Experience performing voice systems engineering on mission-critical systems.
- Understand mission-critical desktop and communications hardware and software.
- Experience supporting configuration management, change management, and service transition.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and constructively as part of a team.
- Be willing to perform call-in support as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in SharePoint, ServiceNow.
- ITIL Foundations certification.
Compensation:
The estimated salary range for this position is $67,600 - $122,200 per year.
