Role and Responsibilities

Loring Consulting Engineers, Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Washington, D.C. office.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building design and a solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.

  • Design and develop mechanical systems, including heating, cooling, and ventilation systems, to ensure efficient and effective building operations.
  • Perform system design calculations, load calculations, and energy modeling to optimize building performance.
  • Select and specify equipment for use in building systems, considering factors such as energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Develop and implement sustainable design methods to minimize environmental impact.
  • Prepare detailed mechanical construction documents, including specifications and drawings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, architects, and engineers to ensure design meets their needs and expectations.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial/institutional building projects, with a focus on HVAC design.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
