Position Overview

Chenega MIOS SBU is in search of a proficient Licensed Mechanical Engineer to enhance our team. Key Responsibilities

The Licensed Mechanical Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting mechanical engineering initiatives within our operational scope. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading mechanical design projects from initial concept through to execution.
  • Guiding and supervising junior engineers, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Assessing design efforts and engaging in negotiations with contractors.
  • Offering specialized knowledge in the evaluation of mechanical systems.
  • Managing contractor submissions and responding to Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Performing additional tasks as required.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical and plumbing design.
  • Proficiency in AUTOCAD and related mechanical design software.
  • Professional licensure as a Mechanical Engineer is preferred.
  • A Secret clearance is mandatory.

Essential Skills and Competencies

  • Expertise in Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build project delivery methods.
  • Capability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Skilled in estimating project efforts and negotiating with contractors.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems design and assessment.
  • Experience in generating field progress documentation.
  • Proficient in resolving engineering challenges and addressing RFIs.
