Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Student Services Associate to join our team at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position that requires occasional evening or weekend hours for special events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate office operations to support the Student Services team in providing inclusive and equitable student support.
  • Manage office management, internal and external communications, program and event logistics, financial operations, and student records.
  • Develop and implement new procedures as needed, and document all processes and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, parents, faculty, and academic units.
  • Manage the office's physical space to ensure a safe, usable, and accessible work environment.
  • Coordinate the office's virtual work spaces and establish accessible architecture for electronic files.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise student employees to provide nuanced and culturally competent customer service.
  • Direct and delegate work, approve hours, facilitate work-requests, and monitor progress and deadlines of front desk staff.
  • Conduct bi-weekly student staff meetings, provide developmental coaching and feedback, and conduct performance reviews for student employees.
  • Manage departmental email accounts, respond to inquiries, and update the office's website content as needed.
  • Coordinate student communications, event logistics, and manage on-site event execution.
  • Design and implement new systems, manage logistics, and develop procedures for effective project management.
  • Participate in unit and collegiate events as needed.
  • Oversee the maintenance of an accurate student records system, including PeopleSoft data entry and management.
  • Provide support for probation and suspension review and degree clearance processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in operations roles and/or student services units.
  • Project coordination and collaboration experience, including special event management.
  • Experience in applying an equity lens to create an inclusive work environment and policies.
  • Previous experience working with U of M systems such as Peoplesoft, Perceptive Experience, APLUS, UMReports.
  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers on a large team.
  • Ability to create a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Working Conditions
