Service Advisor Job Description

The Service Advisor plays a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction and driving service sales and gross profit. As the dealership's first-line customer relations and service sales representative, this individual is responsible for handling service customers and influencing the volume of service business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet each customer in a prompt, courteous manner and acknowledge those waiting in line.
  • Schedule appointments using dealership-approved forms and communicate with service customers to determine the nature of the mechanical problem.
  • Secure agreement from customers before repairs begin, cover cost estimates, and approximate completion times.
  • Obtain customer and vehicle data, secure payment methods, and test drive vehicles if necessary.
  • Inspect vehicles for bodywork, notify customers, and advise on car maintenance and manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensure all Repair Orders are accounted for.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills and a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • A team player with impeccable honesty and integrity, maintaining a high level of professional personal appearance and conduct.
