Position Summary
The role involves overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, ensuring precision and promptness in all operations. You will monitor inventory levels and conduct regular audits to maintain accurate records, implementing and enforcing effective inventory management practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily material requirements for the manufacturing facility, including raw materials, machinery, parts, tools, and services, utilizing optimal procurement strategies.
  • Enhance vendor relationships to align with company objectives, monitoring performance, providing constructive feedback, and analyzing trends; collaborate with site teams to negotiate favorable terms and resolve issues.
  • Work with operations and maintenance teams to develop specifications for equipment and materials, reviewing and evaluating bids for procurement.
  • Participate in contract negotiations and assist in formulating and implementing contract management policies and procedures.
  • Conduct market research to assess the availability of materials and delivery systems.
  • Procure materials and services from suppliers, ensuring the best value while considering quality, pricing, reliability, and urgency.
  • Balance the inventory needs of the store with economically justified stock levels.
  • Supervise the spare parts room and provide leadership to one direct report.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven experience managing budgets and negotiations exceeding $5M.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Ability to lead independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in managing small projects.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Qualifications:

  • Strong negotiation skills with a high level of interpersonal acumen to handle sensitive situations.
  • 3-5 years of experience in purchasing within a fast-paced environment, adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • CPSM or C.P.M certification is advantageous; a demonstrated commitment to the profession is essential.
