Position Overview:

As a key contributor at Nightwing, you will be engaged in the innovative design and production of high-precision inertial measurement systems crucial for various applications. In the role of a Special Process Manufacturing Engineer, your expertise will be essential in maintaining the integrity of our manufacturing processes, particularly in specialized areas such as plating, heat treatment, and welding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Nadcap Certification processes for specialized manufacturing techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance and Engineering, to uphold compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct thorough testing and measurement throughout production to manage and control critical variables.
  • Identify and resolve production process challenges effectively.
  • Propose and evaluate new equipment and materials to enhance production capabilities.
  • Oversee SAP Work Orders, Routing, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Lead root cause analysis and develop comprehensive failure analysis reports.
  • Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives and optimize manufacturing workflows.
  • Drive ongoing improvements in yield, quality, cost efficiency, and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) regulations.
  • Design and support tooling for both existing and new product lines.
  • Assist in the research and justification of capital equipment investments.
  • Manage nonconforming materials effectively.
  • Oversee annual process audits for Nadcap accreditation.
  • Stay updated with industry standards and respond to audit findings with appropriate corrective actions.
  • Participate in the design and arrangement of assembly areas to maximize efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory modifications in machine design and operation sequencing.

Required Qualifications:

  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent experience.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience with Nadcap systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of root cause corrective action (RCCA) tools, including Six Sigma.
